Course: Sustainable Management of Multifunctional Forests and Utilization of Non-Timber Forest Resources
This course is part of the European STAR FOREST project and is specifically designed for adults, especially those living in rural areas or those with fewer opportunities. Its objective is to provide knowledge and practical skills for the sustainable use of multifunctional forests, with a special focus on non-timber forest products (such as wild fruits, mushrooms, chestnuts, medicinal plants, resins, and honey).
- The content is structured into eight competency-based teaching units, which address key topics such as:
- Sustainable management and biodiversity conservation
- Adaptation to climate change
Production and valorization of different forest resources Bioenergy and social uses of forests (tourism and environmental education)
The course promotes a comprehensive view of forests as a source of employment, sustainability, and social inclusion. It has been designed with a didactic approach adapted to adult learning, combining clear explanations, visual diagrams, videos, and activities that encourage critical thinking.
